She had already lost the use of her legs and her hands were becoming hard to control. This artwork was drawn by dipping a pen in an ink well. But in her case the pen she used was either in her mouth or drilled through a baseball. When she would fatigue she could switch between the two. There are no lines in this picture, just dots. This is a technique she developed enabling her to draw for a few more years. This took her many many hours to complete, and just as in life, she never gave up. |
